Earlier this month, a COVID-19 testing site has opened in Spring Creek Towers to help protect your health, family, and community. Testing and tracking is a necessary part in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this resource is free and is operated by the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. This valuable resource was supported with the help of Twin Pines Management and Starrett City Tenants Association.
The site is located at 1279 Pennsylvania Avenue (The former Management Office) 7 days a week, from 9am to 7pm.
All New Yorkers can do their part to fight COVID-19 by wearing a mask, social distancing, washing their hands, and getting tested. It’s important that everyone get tested, even if you do not have symptoms or pre-existing conditions. No appointment is needed, and everything is confidential, safe, and you will not be asked about your immigration status. If you are positive, the NYC Health+ Hospitals can help you safely quarantine to protect others at a hotel or at home. According to their website, “The NYC Test & Trace Corps will make sure that anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 and their close contacts will have the resources needed to safely separate in a hotel, free of charge, or at home to help prevent the spread of the virus.”
Please note, if you are contacted by a contact tracer after visiting a testing site they will not ask for your name, social security number, private financial information, credit card information, or ask you to download software.
Be vigilant and follow the guidance of the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and make every effort to minimize unnecessary gatherings, and to seek medical care if you feel unwell or have a fever.
In addition to the testing facility, Twin Pines Management continues to follow the enhanced cleaning procedures including increased frequency of cleaning all common areas with a particular focus on doors, doorknobs, elevator buttons, handrails, and other high-touch areas.
