Spring Creek Senior Partners Hosts a Father’s Day Luncheon

On June 16th Spring Creek Senior Partners (SCSP) hosted their first Father’s Day luncheon inside of their multipurpose room at 160 Schroeders Avenue.

With the aroma of delicious food and relaxing music, about a dozen fathers and father-figures were able to relax, unwind and enjoy an afternoon of socialization and fun.  According to SCSP Director, Jahiah Wilson, this luncheon is one of many efforts being made to involve the older adult men in the Spring Creek Towers (SCT) community.

“It’s important to host Mother’s Day and Father’s Day events because we want to pay homage to the great work that they’ve done not only with their families, but within the community. We want to acknowledge the phenomenal work, and the service that they provide to Spring Creek Towers and to the extended families,” Wilson told the Spring Creek Sun.

For Ira Peterman, the Father’s Day event was a wonderful opportunity to discuss what activities the men would like to participate in at SCSP, such as attending the Cyclones baseball games and other trips together.

“I think it’s terrific here, people get together, and they get out of the house,” Peterman said.
