By: Pamela Stern

Four judokas of the Starrett Judo Club competed on Saturday, May 21st at the Brooklyn Cup tournament at the Kings Bay YMCA in Brooklyn. This tournament was designated for beginners (white belts) only.

Here is how they placed:

Renzel Joseph-placed second and received a Silver medal

Renly Joseph-placed fourth

Caiden Bernard placed second and received a Silver medal

Cayene Altidor-placed first in one division and received a Gold medal and also placed third in another division and received a Bronze medal

Kudos to these novice judokas!

“Our judokas always play to the best of their abilities when they compete at tournaments. It takes a lot of courage and discipline to stand-alone and fight one on one in front of a large audience. The Coaching staff and families of the Starrett Judo Club are very proud of our young judo students and encourage them to continue learning and practicing their judo techniques,” said Jeremy Bonserio, Assistant Judo Coach.
