Monster Mash at Spring Creek Towers!

By Amanda Moses

Goblins and ghouls beware, the Spring Creek Towers’ (SCT) community celebrated Halloween in Spooktacular fashion. Students in the Abe Stark Primary School (PS) 346 held their annual character day parade in their playground, which invited children to dress up as their favorite book or comic book character.  Some donned Marvel’s Iron Man costume, while others felt more villainous as the Joker.

The Spring Creek After School Program also joined in on the Halloween fun, marching over in costume to the Twin Pines Management office at 1390 to participate in trick or treating festivities.

Middle schoolers in Frederick Douglass Academy (FDA) VIII and Gateway Intermediate School (IS) 364 attended classes on Monday dressed in their most festive attire. Even teachers participated donning skeleton, mermaid and even Disney outfits.

Spring Creek Teen Central and the Young Adults Program held Hallow-week where the hosted a series of creepy activities including: a Mummy wrap and race, haunted maze, scary stories, costume party, and scary movie screenings in the lower level of the Brooklyn Sports Club (BSC).

At the Starrett Early Learning Center (SELC), the 3K and Pre-K students read books with Halloween themes as well as attended their classes in costume.

The entire community was also invited the annual Fall Harvest Festival hosted by the Starrett City Tenant Association (SCTA), which included pumpkin picking and other fun activities.
