On Sunday, April 28th the Starrett Judo Club hosted the Starrett Spring Invitational Tournament at the Brooklyn Sports Club (BSC).  There were approximately twenty dojos that participated in this tournament including clubs from Massachusetts, Smithtown, Long Island, and Valley Stream’s VSPAL Judo Club.

ToHoKu Judo Club is from Massachusetts, and this is the first time that they have participated in the Starrett Spring Invitational Tournament in 12 years. ToHoKu Judo Club’s coach, Dale Swett is a longtime Judo colleague of Coach Legros.

“Everybody did a great job. Dominick Bonserio was super outstanding,” said Coach Legros. “Three of the newest members of the Starrett Judo Club are: Elijah Boston, Noa Boston, and Nathaniel Boston. They did a great job, and they now understand judo and are on course to compete in future tournaments,” said Legros.

“The pursuit of excellence is a continuous process through life. Enjoy the pursuit,” said by Elaine Chao.

Now the Starrett Judo Club members are training as they are getting ready for their very busy tournament circuit which includes the following tournaments, with eyes on the International tournament that lead up to the US Open in Fort Lauderdale, Florida:
