The annual Korean Day Parade and Festival said annyeonghaseyo (hello), New York City on October 5th.
For the first time in five years since the pandemic shuttered in-person events, the Korean Day Parade and Festival was held in K-Town. According to the Korean American Association of Greater New York (KAAGNY), this year officially marks 121 years since Koreans arrived in America and since then the organization has fostered cultural awareness.
Created in 1980, the Korean Day Parade has been heralded as one of the largest events celebrating Korean culture. The ceremony ran from 38th Street and 6th Avenue to 31 Street, with festivities on 32nd Street. Attendees were offered delicious Korean cuisine, played games, and there was a K-pop contest.
