Video Game Releases for the Summer

In gaming, the summer is usually known as draught, a time in which players have already experienced some big titles during the beginning of the year but must often wait until the end of the year for the highly anticipated holiday releases. However, summer 2023 is shaping up to be brimming with many Triple-A releases. Here are a few:    

Game: Street Fighter 6

Platform: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows

Rating: T for Teen

Cost: $69.99

Release: Date: June 2

Capcom’s iconic fighting game returns with its seventh entry in the franchise, despite being named Street Fighter 6. Gamers get ready for what is being heralded as a new era in fighting games. While this new title ensures that Ryu and friends come kicking their way onto TV screens with a burst of nostalgia that fans know and love, three new modes including World Tour and Battle Hub will also be keeping things fresh. In addition to high-quality graphics, the environments will embody street culture, such as Mexico City and Metro City.

This  action role-playing game that has enraptured audiences for 26 years has released its fourth iteration continuing the demonic fun battling evil, mastering deadly skills, and retrieving legendary loot. Akin to its predecessors, Diablo IV allows players to choose between playing solo or with friends as adventurers embark on a series of missions inside nightmarish dungeons and dark, dreary towns. In addition to battling with friends, gamers can enjoy cross-play and cross-progression on all available gaming platforms.

Release Date: August 18

The 1974 masterpiece that shocked audiences decades ago will now have a video game release.  Set as a survival horror multiplayer game, similar to Friday the 13th, this version is set to be better and bloodier than its slasher competitors, which will has players vying to be killer family. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has a four versus three setups, allowing gamers to be Leatherface and members of the Slaughter family fighting potential victims.
