BDU Makes US Debut in Jersey City

Fans throughout the east coast clamored to White Eagle Hall in Jersey City for a chance to see the first showcase of BOYS DEFINE UNIVERSE (B.D.U.) Tour for Wishpool: Flash & Light on August 16th.

Beneath the neon lights of White Eagle Hall, fans, affectionately called B.U., gripped tightly onto their light sticks staring out at the stage in anticipation of the first stop of vocal powerhouses B.D.U. debut tour. Hosted by Studio Pav, the concert allowed fans of CIX, M.O.N.T. and One Impact to gather together in support their favorite singers Seunghun, Bitsaeon, and Jay Chang, respectively from these groups as well as the debut of Mineso.

Each of these young men proved last Friday why their singing skills are far superior then most K-Pop groups. Pelting out soprano high notes like no other, each of these artists have their own unique style. However, together their voices create the most beautiful sound.

From ballads to pop songs, B.D.U. has the vocal range to do it all. Watching them perform, especially their hit “My One” in Korean and English was a site to behold. These men held nothing back as they leaned into their mic stands hitting high pitch notes with epic precision, and then breathlessly throw their heads back soaking in the music. It was so other world that some may have even considered it a religious experience, and these boys let out a chorus that took fans to church.

The high energy from the crowd spurred B.D.U., who admitted that they had their trepidations prior to their first performance but were motivated upon hearing their fans cheer them on. It was also a full circle moment for Jay Chang who grew up in New Jersey and was able to come back home and perform for his family and friends.
