Fans rejoiced as South Korean K-Pop group BOYNEXTDOOR (BND) made their comeback this month with their second album, “How.”
The members of BOYNEXTDOOR have humble beginnings, which speaks true to their namesake. It is their casual demeanor and easy listening musical style that fulfills the classic trope of being the approachable and dependable friend who lives next door, hence “Boy Next Door”. After making their official debut in May 2023, members Jaehyun, Sungho, Riwoo, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak have already become a global success.
With their first mini album, “Why” earning No. 162 in the United States Billboard Top 200 charts, BOYNEXTDOOR are storming through the music industry and have even entered No. 64 on Billboard’s Artist 100 list.
The group was created by KOZ Entertainment, an agency founded by rapper and producer ZICO, and was later purchased by the renowned HYBE company. With a prestigious organization backing this fresh-faced K-Pop group, BOYNEXTDOOR proves to be a force to be reckoned with.
In honor of the newly released album, K-Pop Nara hosted a special pop-up event from April 19th to April 21st where fans could purchase all versions of the album and receive a free exclusive photocard and a cupsleeve.
For 18-year-old Kotoha Tanaka, an international student from Japan, she wants to make sure she shows her support for her favorite K-Pop groups.
“I really like their songs and concept. Also, they are produced by ZICO and I really like him. I wanted to support them since pre-debut. I like their choreography and songs and I really just enjoy their concepts,” Kotoha Tanaka, 18 said, “All six of them are really talented.”
Seventeen-year-old, Hannah Marin is an avid fan of BOYNEXTDOOR and shared that while her favorite member is Jaehyun, she cherishes the music they make and seeks out their songs in times of need.
“Whenever I am not having a good day, their music is what I play,” Marin said.
