On Saturday, February 18th the Brooklyn Sports Club (BSC) held their All Star Three Point Shooting contest. This event was a kickoff to the start of their Youth Basketball clinic that will be held in March.
“This was a successful event with a total of 32 participants along with their friends and family cheering them on. Rashane Johnson (the Brooklyn Sports Club’s Youth Sports Program Director) was able to get support from the basketball community and put together a fun event for people of all ages. The energy was great in the gym and this is just the start of future sports events at BSC for the community,” said Hassan Canaan, Brooklyn Sports Club’s General Manager.
The All Star Three Point Shooting contest was sponsored by BSC, Earn Clothing, Natural Cut Fitness, iinspireskillsacademy, and Solutions madepossible.org. Kenny Bonhomme won the All Star Three Point Shooting contest and was awarded with a Nike gift card for $100 from BSC, an Earn Hat, and a Natural Cut Fitness sweatsuit. Although, Bon-homme is not a resident of Spring Creek Towers, he is a member of the BSC.
“This used to be a yearly thing that the BSC offered and now we just brought it back and are hoping to do this one to two times a year. This was first time we’ve held the event involving Rashane and our BSC Youth Sports Program (there will be more along with skills challenges for kids 14 and up),” said Canaan.
Johnson added, “Thank you to everyone who participated and those who came to watch. We will be hosting many more events such as; basket-ball leagues, three point shooting contests, basketball skill challenges, flag football league for our youth, and dance programs for kids. So please follow us @brooklynsportsclub and stay tuned.”
