Are you ready to come get some? The groovy classic Evil Dead has hit store shelves this month with developers boasting it to be the ultimate multiplayer experience as you play as Ash Williams, Scotty, Lord Arthur, Kelly Maxwell, Pablo Simon Bolivar, and more in a humorous but terrifying game. This iteration pays tribute to the quirkiness of the movie and television series, both starring Bruce Campbell, as well as the creepy undead.  The question is will you be able to play as a force of good or evil?

Off the bat Evil Dead’s gameplay looks a lot like Friday the 13th, but it’s even better. You work together as a team with four survivors to seal the breach between worlds by completing tasks and finding key items, but be conscious of managing your fear or else your soul may be devoured.

If you’re not into being a good guy, you can also join the forces of evil controlling the Kandarian Demon to hunt other players while possessing Deadites, cars, and other items in the environment—but best of all you can possess a survivor and get them to kill their teammates.

Like Friday the 13th there is the outdoors landscape to experience; however, movie and television buffs of the Evil Dead franchise will recognize the infamous Evil Dead cabin where the Necronomicon book of the dead, once read aloud, reawakened all those who’ve perished. As you prepare to battle the dead, you can gear up your character with Ash’s infamous chainsaw arm paired with a short barrel shotgun, or choose to wield cleavers and other weapons.

Conclusion

Evil Dead is the zombie-esque horror multiplayer horror game that we’ve all be waiting for. It prompts plenty of laughs, jump scares, and teamwork from friends throughout the globe. What’s even more fun about this game is that it offers cross play, allowing gamers on OC, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 to be able to play with each other. In addition, there are  future developments for a Nintendo Switch release.
