The FDNY rescued Santa Claus just in time for Christmas! On December 4th, jolly old St. Nick got stuck on top of the New York City Fire Museum, and while he didn’t have his reindeer to usher him to safety, members of the FDNY leapt into action.
After a two-year hiatus, members of the New York City Fire Department carried out their annual tradition of saving Santa Claus from the roof of the New York City Fire Museum located at 278 Spring Street, allowing spectators to view this event for free. A FDNY firetruck was parked outside of the museum, where they erected a ladder to help save Santa.
Once safely on the ground, Santa hugged and thanked his rescuers for their valiant efforts, and afterwards he was met with dozens of children who swarmed him with their holiday wishes.
Once the outside rescue spectacle culminated, Santa went inside of the museum where families lined up to take a photo with him and to receive FDNY swag.
