New York Fashion Week (NYFW), the semi-annual international event hit the city street from February 11th to February 16th. Designers from around the globe hosted by in-person and virtual runway shows displaying their latest creations.
While some mainstream designers opted for virtual showcases, there several independent showcases (off the runway so to speak) that were also held. CDCD Productions presented a size and age inclusive experience that allowed up-and-coming designers to shine—all taking place on Bleeker Street in the Lynn Redgrave Theatre. Brands at this showing included: Tailormade by Tae, CurvySense, Nova Threadz, Melesia Robinson, Little Black Designs, La’Jouet by Hananiah, Esprlia, Built by Stacey, and ISeeYourClothing.
At Spring Studios on Varick Street—the hub of all things fashionable—there were several runway experiences including the Asia Fashion Collection, which featured chic winter coats, colorful cloth masks, floral dresses, and more.
There were also two exclusive showcases at Spring Studios, The Art of Rodarte: Created exclusively with AfterPay and Black in Fashion Council Discovery Showrooms. In addition, attendees were able to stop by Love Sac to pose for a short video exemplifying their comfortable couches and purchase merchandise that would go directly to independent brands.
