Abe Stark Primary School’s fifth graders proved that their future possibilities are limitless as they moved up to middle school on June 20th.
Dressed in yellow and blue cap and gowns, the pre-teens enthusiastically waved to their families and friends as they entered PS 346’s auditorium for a morning they would not forget. Parents jumped up at the sight of their children, proudly cheering and shouting their children’s names.
After years of hard work, the students were ready to receive their diplomas and enjoy the start of their summer break. The joyous occasion was marked with heartfelt speeches from Salutatorian Tanaysia Prospere and Valedictorian Rhesa Waldron who both congratulated their fellow classmates on their achievements but lamented that this was just the beginning of their educational careers.
After singing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” “Rise Up,” and “High Hopes” the ceremony culminated with a presentation of diplomas and the moving of tassels.
