Last week, Abe Stark Primary School (PS) 346 held three stepping up ceremonies for their 3K, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten classes.
From June 20th to June 22nd, the walls of school’s auditorium were covered in pictures of each class, balloons, and there was even a small wooden archway with the letters “ABC” in rainbow colors erected for the children to pass through as they made their way to the stage for their performance.
The ceremonies all began the same, with the students danc-ing their way into the auditorium, which was jam-packed with eager parents, family, and friends clutching congratulatory balloons. Additionally, the stepping up events invited the children to wear matching t-shirts indicative of their grade (3-K wore ivory shirts, pre-kindergarten donned red shirts, and kindergarten dressed in yellow).
The festivities included songs about what the students learned over the year, including the days of the week and the importance of friendship and teamwork.
