The somber September 11th anniversary ceremony has become a heartbreaking tradition to ensure that those who’ve perished both during and after the terrorist attacks will never be forgotten. Joining family members at the commemorative 9/11 Memorial Pools were elected officials, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, Congressmembers Carolyn Maloney and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as well as Mayor Eric Adams and former mayors Rudy Giuliani, Mike Bloomberg, and Bill de Blasio.
Members of the armed forces, New York Police Department, Fire Department of New York, flight attendants and others paid their respects by the reflective pools as families read aloud the names of those who died.
