March is National Kidney Month
March is National Kidney Month, and March 14th is World Kidney Day. World Kidney Day is a global campaign to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and associated health problems worldwide. The 2024 theme is “Kidney Health for All: Preparing for the Unexpected, Supporting the Vulnerable.” The campaign will focus on raising awareness about disastrous events (natural or man-made) and the impact on people living with kidney disease when access to appropriate diagnostic services, treatment, and care is impacted.

Spring Creek Senior Partners NORC will be conducting several workshops this month pertaining to health and wellness. Some of the topics include:
- Free Blood Pressure Check with Nurse Mariela/Nurse Nancy Monday-Thursdays from 9:30am-04:30pm.
- Housekeeping Services Registration Day with Caring Touch on March 7, 2024 from 11am-12pm.
- “Fire Safety” Workshop with FDNY on March 12, 2024 from 11am-12:30pm.
- Keeping Your Kidneys in Check” Workshop with NYC Aging March 14, 2024 from 11am-12pm
- Women’s History Month Documentary “Period. End Of Sentence March 4th 2024 from 12pm-2pm.
- Elder Abuse/Safety Workshop with NYPD/75 Precinct on March 19, 2024 from 11am-12pm.
