OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH
Domestic violence touches every community in this Nation. Americans of every race, religion, and background are affected; its consequences transcend generations, impacting children and reshaping whole families. During National Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, we stand with the tens of millions of people who have experienced intimate partner violence, and we thank the first responders, service providers, and community members who work to make sure that every American can live in safety, with dignity and respect.
Let’s all wear purple to raise awareness about domestic violence.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) is observed in October to recognize victims and raise awareness about the impact of domestic violence. It’s a time to unite advocates across the nation in their efforts to end domestic violence.
Purple Thursday (October 17, 2024): Purple Thursday, celebrated on the third Thursday of October, is a day where people wear purple to show their support for survivors of domestic violence. This simple act of wearing purple helps raise awareness and lets survivors know they are not alone.

Spring Creek Senior Partners is a Naturally Occurring Retirement Community/Supportive Service Program (NORC/SSP) and we serve all residents who are 60 years or older.
