Under normal circumstances high school seniors embark on many things throughout their last year of school, like their prom, graduation and then they have to decide what their next step will be! This year’s graduating class did all this after facing the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic changed things for the high schoolers, whereas they were learning in school in the fall of 2019, but shortly after entering 2020 lessons were held remotely. The following year classes began a hybrid approach with parents choosing between in person and remote learning, until, finally, in the fall of 2022 the schools went back to full in-person learning.
Many high school seniors visit different colleges and universities to see which would best prepare them for their future career. This decision could be overwhelming. Making the right choice of college, university, business school or specialty training schools may be compelling, but this is the first step towards attaining their career goal. In addition, to choosing the right path which will lead them to their choice of career comes the concern of the financial cost to continue their education.
The Spring Creek Towers (SCT) Scholarship Program has been awarding high school seniors scholarships annually since 1986 to ease some of the financial burden for SCT high school seniors and their families. Over 1.2 million dollars has been awarded since the inception of the program. This year twelve high school seniors were awarded scholarships.
Each of these twelve recipients have clear aspirations, and with the help of the SCT Towers Scholarship Program, they will be on their way to further their education and fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
SCT Scholarship eligibility requirements include: high school transcripts, two written essays, letters of recommendation, and documentation of community service if applicable.
