Eight judokas of the Starrett Judo Club participated in the New York State Judo Championship on Sunday, November 7th at Salesian High School in New Rochelle. Three of them have retained their status as New York State Judo Champions. Additionally two others have become New York State Judo Champions. These youngsters show that hard work and practice is key to achieving this distinct honor.

Assistant Coach, Jeremy Bonserio said, “The success of the judokas at the New York State Judo Championship are the results of hard work and dedication by the parents, coaches, and students that make up the Starrett Judo Club. We are proud of all of our judokas.”
Although Adam Faraq, Jessiah Bailey & Kevin Bailey Jr. did not bring home any medals, these athletes also fought hard and will keep on working and improving.
Coach Legros received an award from the New York State Judo Inc. for his dedication and passionate service to judo.
On Sunday, November 21st, the Starrett Judo Club will be participating in the Minutemen Judo Classic that will be held at Mill Works in Westford, Massachusetts.
