Gamers get ready to be hit with a powerful Hadouken (special fighting attack) with the return of Capcom’s iconic fighting game Street Fighter 6. While this new title ensures that Ryu and friends come kicking their way back onto TV screens with burst of nostalgia that fans know and love, three new modes including World Tour, Fighting Ground, and Battle Hub will also be keeping things fresh. In addition to high-quality graphics, the environments embody street culture through locals such as Mexico City and Metro City.

Street Fighter 6 has been heralded as a new era in fighting games. Continuing with its Fighting Mode, which consists of the classic arcade, allowing players to battle against friends, test the combat system with tutorials and more. The next option that elevates Street Fighter 6 is its Battle Hub, where players (about 100 at a time) can create their own avatar and virtually meet with players around the world. In this hub custom created characters can walk around a large lobby, sit at virtual arcades and watch other players fight, play classic Street Fighter games and even enter tournaments at the Event Counter. Additionally, avatars can be outfitted in fresh threads at the Hub Goods Shop.

The final mode, World Tour, included in Street Fighter 6 will most likely be a fan favorite and makes this iteration stand out among other gaming titles this year.  This mode is a fresh take for a fighting game and includes an immersive single player adventure, where gamers create their own fighter and play a personalized story while unlocking costumes and other items along the way in an open world.

While the new modes takes this 2D experience and gives it more depth, gamers can still appreciate the classic 18-character roster with the likes of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and others.

Conclusion

Overall, Street Fighter 6 is heading out to be one of the best video games this year thanks to its ability to rekindle nostalgic memories and take the fighting experience to a whole new level with its additional modes. The elevated combat mechanic, Drive System, is also an excellent change making battles smoother (characters can access five abilities through their Drive Gauge including, reversals, parry, impact, rush, and overdrive special.)
