South Korean rising star Sunburnkids is bringing the heat this fall season with the debut of his first full-length album, Elephant in the Room!
Sunburnkids is not shying away from anything with his album that transforms the American adage: “The elephant in the room” into a rallying call to speak up about issues that may cause fear or discomfort. Inspired by an interaction with a young fan, who stated that he listens to their music religiously from sunrise to sunset cause Sunburnkinds to be complimented and shocked by the supporter’s candidness. At that moment he felt the immense weight of his role as a musician. He realized the effect his music can have on society. Through this sense of duty, he decided to carefully craft his songs with this responsibility in mind.
Sunburnkids announced in a press release, “This phrase deeply resonates with my life. I’ve carried the weight of childhood habits and unresolved traumas that, while invisible, have always felt like a colossal elephant in my heart. Every time I write, whether it’s a reflection of my life’s introduction, body, or conclusion, I’ve found myself un-able to bring it to a close—unable to place that final period. In other words, I have yet to write the ending to my story”.
If you are ready to express yourself more fully through real-life experiences, Sunburnkids 11-track album may be the perfect tune to march to the beat of your own drum this fall season.
