Teen Central Learns About 3D Printing at NY Public Library

On September 29th, members of Spring Creek Teen Central visited the New York Public Library on Flatlands Avenue to learn about 3D Printing.  The teens were able to design a small digital model on the library’s computer, and then the information was sent to their on-site 3D printer, where it creates the item using plastic (other printers can also use metal, wood, and resin-based material).

One member decided to create a small Nike logo onto a square using the library’s software, and within minutes he was able to physically hold a 3D orange plastic model of his design.  The participants were surprised and amazed at the sheer advance technology available at their local library.
