The Mobile Shredder Returns to Spring Creek Towers

The fall months leading up to the winter holidays are usually jam-packed with video game releases! The Spring Creek Sun has compiled a list of games to look forward to in October, so get your controllers ready for some action-packed fun.

Game: Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleased

Platform: PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, PC

Rating: E for everyone 10+

Cost: $39.99

Release Date: October 18th

Who are you gonna call? Ghostbusters! Original film stars of the beloved 1980s dark comedy troupe Dan Akroyd and Ernie Hudson have returned to voice their roles in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleased. In this multiplayer online game four individuals can team up to fight off the pesky poltergeists—which can be controlled by an AI or another player. Akin to similar outings, such as Friday the 13th and Evil Dead, there are tasks you have to complete to trap the ghosts, but that takes teamwork and determination to battle it out.  If you are playing as the ghost, you have to do your best to haunt the area and scare the pants off of the NPCs so that you can make your escape.

Game: Gotham Knights

Platform: Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows

Rating: T for Teen

Cost: $69.99

Gotham Knights is a an open-world, action RPG set in our favorite cape crusaders city—Gotham. The nitty-gritty streets are overrun with criminals, but Batman is dead and only his young mentees are around to save the day. Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood, members of the Bat family, must take down all criminal activity.  You can play by yourself or with one other player on your journey down into the seedy underbelly of Gotham City.

Game: New Tales from the Borderlands

Platform: PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows

Rating: M for Mature

Cost: $49.99

Release Date: October 21st

Are you ready for some mayhem?  The open-world, action-packed adventure Borderlands is back as you take down overlords with three quirky, riffraff characters—many of whom may be called losers—as they haphazardly attempt to change, maybe even save , from certain destruction. You can play as either Anu, a scientist, her streetwise brother Octavio, or Fran who will sling frozen yogurt at her foes.  What makes Borderlands such a fun and unique experience is its narrative-driven gameplay, which encompasses comedic moments with bandits, assassins, and crime bosses. In this iteration, each decision you make determines the story’s ending.
