On March 4th, The Opportunity Hub joined forces with the Liberty Hearing Center to provide audio services for the Spring Creek Towers community on World Hearing Day.
Rahsaan “Dizzy” Harris, the Community Engagement Liaison for The Opportunity Hub coordinated the event with the Liberty Hearing Center to provide free hearing screenings as well as how to help those with hearing impairments utilize cell phone accessibility apps.
Local resident, Nurse Solomon Carmichael and Dr. John P. Weigand helmed the healthy hearing seminar where they discussed the importance caring for your ears, the different forms of hearing impairments and what hearing aid options are available.
Additionally, residents learned that Dr. Weigand holds registrations in New York as a hearing aid dispenser and proudly affiliates with prestigious organizations like the American Academy of Audiology, the New York Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
The event also included remarks from a representative from the Hearing Loss Association of America.
