Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt
Hours and Schedule: 35hours/week; Monday-Friday, some flexibility with daily schedule and some weekend events required.
Location: This position is in-person, working from Spring Creek Towers in East New York, Brooklyn.

We seek an exceptional team member with strong youth development and engagement skills to build and develop our post-secondary readiness and college retention programing. The ideal candidate is well versed in college advising and the admissions process, a skilled facilitator, able to build rapport with youth and families, and an experienced college visit chaperone. They will be looked to for leadership regarding the growth of our post-secondary initiatives, ensuring that our services are aligned with trends and policy changes in the field.
Responsibilities:
• Develop events and workshops geared towards college and career planning targeted to college-bound individuals and/or their parent/guardian
• Plan and chaperone local college visits; organize virtual college trips to Upstate and out of state institutions
• Curate annual college fair, with college admissions, EOP and financial planning representatives
• Provide ongoing college and career preparation to a caseload of 45-50 youth through small group workshops and 1-on-1 advisement
• Assist students and families with college applications and filing financial aid forms (FAFSA) as well as seeking and applying for scholarships and additional aid
• Provide college-bound individuals with wrap-around supports such as test prep, referrals for academic support and connection to social services
• Continue to provide student outreach during their first two years of college, assisting with enrollment and course selection, monitoring academic and social-emotional needs and connecting students to on-campus resources
• Plan events and activities for college students during school breaks to support retention
• Create an alumni panel to discuss the college experience with high school seniors and juniors
• Keep accurate and complete records of all programmatic activities, deliverables, and outcomes; use this data to inform service delivery
• Other duties as assigned
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range for this position starts at $57,500 and is commensurate with experience.
