The 49th Annual East Village Halloween parade returned with ghoulish delight welcoming thousands of participants and spectators. Kicking off on Canal Street and Sixth Avenue and stretching up until West 15th Street, parade floats, marching bands, dancers, and costumed revelers brought Spooktacular fun onto the city streets despite the inclement weather.
There were dancers adorn in LED lights, monsters covered in fake blood, and superheroes running through the streets much to the excitement to observers. Marching bands performed tunes such as the Queens’ hit ‘Don’t stop me now,’ and Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’ while other participants danced to Michael Jackson’s thriller which echoed from speakers from floats.
It truly was a monstrous spectacle to behold starting at 7pm and ending at 11pm.
