Spring Creek Towers Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month

By Melissa Billie Clark

Our community is dedicated to celebrating different cultures and embracing diversity!

On October 15, 2024, Spring Creek Senior Partners welcomed community members to their second annual Hispanic luncheon at 160 Schroeders Avenue. The afternoon was filled with salsa music, arts and crafts, history, and let’s not forget, the cuisine. Attendees brought delicious authentic Spanish dishes such as pollo and onions, rice and beans, plantains, and flan, to name a few.

People of all backgrounds came out of their homes to help with the festivities, confirming Spring Creek  Towers is a true melting pot. Longtime resident Ron Harris was delighted to be with his neighbors, enjoying the music, laughs, culture, and food. Harris said that his favorite food is Mangu, which is mashed plantains with fried eggs. Angela Rivera, a 14-year resident, cooked her famous cheese-based, fFlan. Rivera said she was proud to share this day with her community, who all seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly.
