Hoop Dreams: A Reality Check
Join us on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 1–5 PM at Brooklyn Sports Club for the Basketball Symposium, “Hoop Dreams - A Reality Check.” The symposium is designed to help student-athletes understand the college process, breaking down the key steps required to succeed both on and off the court. Hoop Dreams will feature a dynamic panel discussion highlighting personal journeys from student-athletes and pro-athletes, along with a fun and competitive basketball trivia segment. Following the panel, NIKE will facilitate a one-hour skills challenge session for youth, while parents/guardians are invited to participate in a special workshop focused on supporting their youth athlete through their journey. World Hearing Day: Healthy Hearing Event
In recognition of World Hearing Day, The Opportunity Hub is hosting a Healthy Hearing Event on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Brooklyn Sports Club (The Club Room), 1540 Van Siclen Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11239. This informative and engaging event will offer free hearing screenings provided by Liberty Hearing Centers, CaptionCall sign-ups for free caption phones, and light refreshments for attendees. Just as we prioritize our vision and dental health, it’s equally important to care for our hearing — and this event is a great opportunity to do just that. Love Your Benefits: Meet Your Case Manager
Join us for a welcoming, drop-in case management workshop designed to help residents better understand and manage their public benefits and overall organization. This session provides an opportunity to meet the Case Manager, ask questions, and receive guidance on more common topics such as navigating HRA accounts, understanding notices, recertifications, housing-related concerns, and in person document folder building . Participants may also bring documents or mail they need help organizing . The goal of this event is to increase confidence, access to resources, and follow-through with benefits and case management services in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
“Spring In Bloom” Community Fashion Show
The Spring In Bloom Community Fashion Show returns in April 2026, and we are officially calling all fashion designers! This is more than a runway moment; it’s an opportunity to showcase your designs, elevate your brand, and connect with a supportive community of creatives right here in Starrett City. Selected designers will receive free professional development and brand coaching, making this an experience designed to support both creativity and growth.

MLK: Serve & Learn Winter Support At The Opportunity Hub Farm
Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through service and learning this winter. Join The Opportunity Hub for our MLK: Serve & Learn Volunteer Day on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Volunteers will lend a hand with important winter farm tasks that help our farm thrive year-round, including building infrastructure, preparing mulch, and creating signage. Participants may choose from two time slots: 12:00–1:30 PM or 2:00–3:30 PM. Space is limited to 25 volunteers per session. The event will take place at the Brooklyn Sports Club (Lower Level), located at 1540 Van Siclen Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11239.
