Starrett Judo Club Rolling Registration at BSC

For decades, the name Starrett Judo has become synonymous with greatness thanks to its head coach, Sensi Parnel Legros, who has trained generations of children in the sport.  The former Olympic athlete worked for 30 years to cultivate a program that teaches the “gentle way,” showing students that respect, discipline, dedication, and following a code of ethics can pave the way to a happier life.

What sets Starrett Judo apart from any other program, Legros says, is love.

“I love what I do, and that’s what I’m trying to teach [the judokas] to love what they choose to do,” Legros told the Spring Creek Sun.

With his assistant coaches, Jeremy Bonserio and Jetuan Washington, the Starrett Judo Club continues to help students excel on and off the mat. They meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for children ages 4 and up.

“I can’t tell people enough how good the program is. I’ve seen a difference in all these kids, not only learning judo. All the benefits of learning judo and having Legros as a mentor,” Jeremy said.
