End of Summer Gamming

We are entering the final weeks of summer before the brisk fall season ushers in a new school year, so gamers may be wondering what they should buy before their vacation is over. There are still several outings set to be released this month, including remasters, reboots, and new games to try. The Spring Creek Sun put together a list of new releases hitting shelves in August and September.

Game: Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Remastered

Platform: PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC

Rating: T for Teen

Cost: $19.99

Release date: August 14th

Get ready to experience the remaster of the last game in the Sam & Max trilogy. This classic sleuth iteration sees Sam & Max battle it out against intergalactic villains who are trying to capture the Devil’s Toy box. But as the dynamic duo ward off these  adversaries, Max has his own internal battle as he loses control over his psychic abilities.   

Game: Star Wars Outlaws

Rating: T for Teen

Cost: $69.99

Release date: August 30th

Get ready to enter the wild galaxy frontier with Star Wars Outlaws, set to be the first-ever open world game in the franchise. Set between Empire Strikes Back and the Return of the Jedi, gamers will play as Kay Vess and her companion, Nix, as they try to seek a new life by out witting their way through the galaxy’s crime lords.

Game: Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions

Platform: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, PC)

Rating: T for Teen

Cost: $29.99

Release date: September 3rd

Gamers get ready to hop on your broomstick with this new Harry Potter outing that will have you show your Quidditch skills with friends and family.  Forget about fantasy basketball, and join the fantastic magic of Quidditch where you can play as a Chaser, Seeker, Keeper or Beater, soaring through the sky in attempt to earn the championship. There are several ways you can play this came, whether that is through career mode (starting with backyard battles at the Weasley’s Burrow to the Quidditch World up), Exhibition matches online co-up with up to three platers, or go online and battle it out with player versus player matches against other Quidditch teams.
