Summer is just about over, and now gamers are getting ready to fall into a new season of releases that are looking to provide a head start to the spooky time of year. The Spring Creek Sun has put together a list of horror games that gets players ready for the Halloween spirit albeit in September.
Game: Crypt Custodian

While the release of Crypt Custodian is a few days shy of the start of September, it explores spooky themes for the fall season. Head to the underworld with Pluto, a mischievous black cat who was sentenced to be a janitor in the afterlife, cleaning up after ghosts, ghouls, and undead creatures. Like Zelda’s gameplay, Crypt Custodian an RPG that is fun dark-humored, following Pluto as he explores palaces, solves puzzles, and discovers vast secrets.

Juliet, the cheerleading zombie hunter returns but this time in 4K. Lollipop Chainsaw was first released in 2012 and follows a young girl who was born into a family of zombie hunters. As she rides her bike to school to meet up with her boyfriend, she runs into a horde of zombie that were once her classmates. It is now her turn to take action, and her weapon of choice is a chainsaw. In this RePop version, the gameplay, graphics, and even soundtrack has been improved.

Nothing says horror like a good old zombie game, and what better way to start the crisp fall season then with a remastered version of the action-packed Dead Rising classic. First released in 2006, Dead Rising returns to gaming consoles with improved graphics, fully voiced scenes, and now supports auto-save features. Starring Frank West, a journalist hunting for a killer story inside of a shopping mall in Colorado, has now found himself surrounded by zombies and inside of a military quarantine zone. He has only 72 hours to uncover the truth behind the zombie virus and get the news out alive.

Silent Hill is one of the first horror games to really capture the fear and excitement of gamers. In the second iteration, which was first released in 2001, this survival horror game is a sad story about James who is investigate a mysterious letter from his recently deceased wife. James stumbles upon a fog covered town called Silent Hill, and in this ghost town he must fight bloody monsters, solve puzzles before being gored by the undead all while searching for clues about his late wife.
