The spooky season is upon us, and just in time, several horrific and gory video games are set to release before Halloween. The Spring Creek Sun has curated a list of video games that promises to deliver both screams of joy and a few heart- pounding jump scares

Game: Until Dawn Remastered

Originally released in 2015, Until Dawn revolutionized decision-making in videogames with each choice paving a unique path for the character.   Choose poorly, and the protagonist you love dearly can perish, shifting your focus to a different character. Silent Hill is one of the pioneering horror games that truly captured the fear and excitement of gamers. In the second installment, first released in 2001, players follow James as he investigates a mysterious letter from his recently deceased wife. James stumbles upon a fog covered town called Silent Hill, and in this ghost town he must fight bloody monsters, solve puzzles before being gored by the undead all while searching for clues about his late wife.

The blockbuster film A Quiet Place introduceda new level of fear using eerie silence, which became  a character in its own right. John Krasinski’s science fiction/horror film enamored spectators with its story of an alien invasion that relies on ultrasonic hearing. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead has taken the critically acclaimed film and turned it into a a single-player horror adventure game. The game follows a young woman trying to survive while also dealing with family conflicts.
