The Opportunity Hub hosted an event on November 22nd to spread joy, love, and kindness this holiday season through their annual coat and food distribution. Residents visited the hub located at 1234 Pennsylvania Avenue, eager to accept warm jackets and food and share smiles within the community. The event was a success;48 turkeys, 75 bags filled with Thanksgiving dinner staples, over 250 cans of food, and 37 coats were distributed to 75 households in need.
Kim Owens, a resident for over 20 years, expressed her gratitude for the services provided by Opportunity Hub during a conversation with the community’s Engagement Liaison, Dizzy Brown. She shared her excitement about joining the festivities that day. Additionally, Owens and other community members were pleased that the donations would help ease the financial burden of the holiday season.
