The Feast of San Gennaro returned to Little Italy in Manhattan from September 17th to September 25th. This iconic festival celebrates the patron saint of Naples and Little Italy, Saint Januarius, which began in 1926 on Mulberry Street. What was once a one day, block-long affair honoring the protector of Naples, has transformed into an 11-day event spanning 11 blocks in Little Italy.
New Yorkers and tourists were able to once again enjoy the massive splendor of the festival with delicious, traditional Italian food such as brick-oven pizza, eggplant parmigiana, spaghetti alla carbonara, zeppoles, fried Oreos, gelato and more. Additionally, there were plenty of booths selling jewelry, freshly made cigars, clothing, and other trinkets.
