By Amanda Moses

On October 13th, students at Gateway Intermediate School (IS) 364 participated in the New York City Junior Litter League for the third consecutive year. This program is an initiative created by the New York City Parks Department where teams compete to pick up litter in their local parks to learn about the environment and earn fun prizes.

Together staff and students at IS 364 spent the day cleaning the surrounding community of Spring Creek Towers, specifically the Fresh Creek nature trail located at Flatlands Ave, Louisiana Ave., East 108 St. and Belt Parkway.

“Our students are committed to keeping the community clean and protecting the environment by making sure that all of the living things are protected and healthy,” the school staff wrote on Instagram.
