On January 27th, the Starrett City Early Learning Center (SELC) kicked off National School Choice Week by hosting a virtual session with parents showcasing ‘Why I love my school” presentation live at their 1325 Granville Payne Avenue location. In addition to their performance, both SELC locations (125 Schroeders Avenue and 1325 Granville Payne Avenue) also put-up displays expressing students and parents’ words of affirmation and reasons for selecting SELC.

“National School Choice Week celebrates families’ freedom to choose a school for their children. At Starrett Early Learning Center, we take pride in the amazing labor of love we are giving to provide a safe, clean and nurturing environment for young scholars. National School Choice Week, allows families, children and staff to showcase why Starrett Early Learning Center is a wonderful Early Childhood Program. The many testimonials and quotes from parents and students give a glimpse of why there is so much love for this wonderful school,” SELC Director, Tammy Moore said.

According to the National School Choice Week’s (NSCW) website, this effort is about promoting quality education, something that every child deserves access to whether it is public school, private, home education and more from kindergarten to high school, throughout the week of January 22nd to January 28th.

Donning red shirts and stickers that say National School Choice Week, SELC showcased to parents how much of a loving, positive, and fun environment classes are by singing their nursery school song and a few of the lessons they learned about the alphabet and numbers.
